All packaging released for consumption in Italy must necessarily carry the identification code of the packaging material according to Decision 129/97 / EC.
In the case of packaging intended for the final consumer, it is also mandatory to provide information on collection. It is suggested to indicate the formula “Collection + family of material” or to specify the family of material accompanied by the item “Separate collection”, and to invite the consumer to check the provisions of his own Municipality. All other additional information is voluntarily applicable.
It is important to clarify the family of material (or prevailing material) to provide the consumer with clear and complete information about the composition of the packaging so that he can find out how it should be managed at the end of its life in his own Municipality of reference.
