If terms such as eco/bio/green are part of the brand name, what does the legislation and in particular Directive 2024/825/EU require?

Brand names also fall under the scope of the new Directive 2024/825/EU. If such names invoke environmental or social issues one must be able to prove their veracity as with any other green claim. For example, if a brand includes the generic word “green,” all products marketed under that brand name should have an independent third-party certification of recognized excellence in environmental performance.
