It will apply to all business-to-consumer commercial communication practices, including even green claims regarding the indicated products.
Recycled plastic content claims must be specified and qualified by indicating the subject of the claim and the exact percentage (%) of recycled material. Generic claims such as “green” or “environmentally friendly” should not be associated with this single characteristic unless there is evidence of “recognized excellence in environmental performance.”
After transposition, the provisions will be binding in Italy from September 27, 2026.
